You can do anything you set your mind to do....

Some of us go through life living day by day with blinders on and wearing our “suit” of armor, which some people might refer to as a fat suit.  For some of us, as long as we wear our armor and know the rules of life we are protected from trying something new, setting goals or even living life to the fullest.  We will always wonder “what if”….

Well like most of you, I know what I needed to do and what I should do but I was not really ready to take those steps to live a better life just yet.  I half stepped it by going to the gym several times a week and on some days eating right but never fully committing to see what would happen if I truly applied myself 100%.  All the while looking at other people who were truly enjoy live and what it had to offer; instead I sat on the edge watching and wondering why and what if….

So after a year of watching one of my co-workers, now a really good friend, work on goals to live a better life, I ran out of excuses and said okay, I would go and workout with her.

May 1st – my first class at The Worx by Maia.  Wholly crap, what was I thinking and who is this person asking me about my “whys” and “what do I wants”.  By the time I left that night, I had paid for my first month of classes, and I kept going back. .  It is funny; my daughter went with me to that first class and has not been back since.  She encourages me every day, helps me cook and plan what I need to eat and will even pack my lunch bag for me.

June 24th – hey how about signing up for a 60 Day Journey Challenge… I know, what you are thinking, I have heard it every day for the past two months at work.  Are you crazy, working out five days a week, is too much… You really only need to go every other day and that should be fine…. Are you sure you do not want to go out to lunch with us?  Really another salad… you get the picture.

I have now finished my fourth month of boot camp and completed my 60 day journey challenge.  My motto every day is:  This is a life style commitment, anything worth having you have to work for it and commit to it.  My ultimate goal is to change my health issues, live a longer and active long life.  Every day I do this for me and no one else.

September 3rd – today I started the Ultimate Reset program, which will last for the next 21 days, this is a totally different way of eating but I can do it and I will keep blogging to let you know how I am doing.

Until later,

Wanda

Reflections on My Journey Challenge

Another week down and a week closer to my goals to a healthier new me!  Who would have ever thought at the beginning of the year that I would have the opportunity to me this incredible woman by the name of Maia.  That with her guidance and that of my coach Ashley, I would be on this great journey challenge to a better me.  Two huge thumbs up to two ladies that have changed my life and given me the tools to see that change is possible!!!!

Body:    It feels good when you know that your body is being reshaped and great when other people comment on your hard work, especially to the point that you have motivated them to try the WORX and see what this place is all about.

Learning:    No matter how much you hurt, you can still move, maybe a bit slower or not as low as the day before, but you can still move… each day it get easier to a degree, every step you take is a step closer to your wants, every jump or squat is another second to a better you and every drop of sweat is proof that no matter how you feel you pushed thru and made it to your goal.  Do Not Stop Moving and Set a New “Step” Goal Every Single Day!

Observation(s):    Everyone has struggles just like I do, by encouragement from experience can be push they need and theirs is what I need at the moment; separately and together we can all do this and achieve our goals.

Goals:    To work on my nutrition, eating a big part of what I am working towards so I need to get it right.  It is a work in progress but I can do this!

Another Week Down on My Journey to a Better Life!!!

BLOG for the week:

Body:  Life is good!  I feel great and I can see the changes and the comments from those around me is a great motivation that I am making progress!

Learning:  The numbers on the scale may not move down as fast I would like but my body is like evolution – it is always changing a little bit at a time; stay focused and I will achieve what I want!

Observation:  You never know who is watching you on the Journey… when you are ready to stop or give up someone is always there to encourage you to keep going, tell you that you can do it and that they saw that you were doing your best and pushing to make it to the end.  Let’s keep encouraging each other because we all need a push every now and then.

Goals:  Push harder, keep moving until I cannot move anymore – that I can do this!

BTW I forgot to blog my earlier by fifth and sixth workout for last week was lifting weights at the gym on Wednesday and Friday nights.
